Long Beach City College students can attend open classes and get a permission number from the instructor to enroll. Please note that adding a class next week is subject to instructor's consent and only for 16-week courses only.

In the News: Welcome Weeks Extended Hours
During the first two weeks of the Spring Semester, several Student Services departments have extended their hours at both the Liberal Arts (LAC) and Pacific Coast (PCC) campuses.

AA/AAA Team Wins VASSY Award
The Administrative Assistants and Academic Administrative Assistants (AA/AAA) Team has earned the Vassy Award for February. The AA/AAA Team was recognized for constantly going the extra mile to help students reach success at LBCC. Academic Affairs bestows the Vassy (Viking Award for Student Success) award each month to faculty/staff teams that exhibit extraordinary effort and/or collaboration to support student success at Long Beach City College.

Important Info on Dialing 9-1-1 from LBCC Campus Phones
It is no longer necessary to dial "9-9-1-1" on LBCC campus phones in case of an emergency. Dial 9-1-1 from a desk phone immediately if there is an emergency, if you see a crime in progress or if you see an incident requiring police assistance. If you have questions, please contact LBCC EHS Manager Brendan Hayes at bhayes@lbcc.edu or x4797.

Faculty/Staff Parking Lot A (LAC): Construction Notice
Due to LBCC modernization and construction at Building P on the Liberal Arts Campus, adjacent Parking Lot A will be closed for an extended period of time beginning February 3, 2017. It will not reopen until May 2018. Parking Lot A is located at the northeast corner of Carson Street and Faculty Avenue. Temporary relief parking for faculty and staff will be available in nearby Parking Lots C, D and I. See above map for details.

Important Information affecting Parking and Traffic at LAC and PCC:
Long Beach Police, City College Section will be closing Lew Davis at Clark Avenue between 7 AM and 10 AM during the first two weeks of the Spring semester beginning February 6, 2017. The closure is to mitigate traffic congestion and provide safe pedestrian access on Lew Davis due to the increase in vehicle traffic. It is recommended that staff access Lew Davis from Faculty Ave via Conant Street.  At the discretion of LBPD and traffic allowing, District and Frontier employees may be allowed access to Lew Davis via Clark provided they display a proper staff parking permit or ID.  If necessary, additional closures of Lew Davis may occur.
PCC Campus may experience periodic closures of 20th Street at Walnut Ave as a result of a street widening project conducted by the City of Long Beach.

Student Free Parking Information:
Parking is free in the student stalls of Lot M (Veterans Stadium) at LAC and Lot 5, 6, and 10 at PCC between  January 30, 2017  through February 12, 2017.  Student Parking Permits  are required in all other lots at PCC and LAC at all times.  Permits will be required in Lot M and Lots 5, 6, and  10  beginning February 13, 2017.  Please forward or post this information in your areas and make it available to students.

Faculty Listings in the 2017-2018 Long Beach City College Catalog - Due Tues., Feb. 28
We are working on the draft of the 2017-2018 Long Beach City College Catalog. Please consult the 2016-2017 College Catalog to determine if your name, degree(s) and academic rank are properly listed. If there have been any changes, please return this form to Cindi Nguyen in the Human Resources Office with the appropriate listing and documentation (transcripts) to support a change in your degrees, as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting the form is February 28, 2016 for inclusion in the 2017-2018 Catalog.
