President Oakley Announces Passage of
Measure E

On Tuesday, February 5 the voters of our district overwhelmingly approved Measure E.  With over 73% of the vote, the community we serve reaffirmed its trust in and commitment to Long Beach City College.

With this measure, we will be able to put nearly a half-billion dollars of new construction and modernization projects into motion over the next 10 years.  Most importantly, this is a clear message that our students and their economic future is a top priority.  It is now up to us to live up to the trust placed in us -- not only work to build and improve our facilities but also double our efforts to improve the learning environment and our students’ success.

Thank you all for your efforts to reach this milestone and for all the work you do that, as evidenced by the vote, is recognized by our community.

Let us all take a moment to celebrate this Viking success!
