Called away for a conference, family obligation or a previous commitment? There may be situations that are unavoidable that may not allow you to be in class. Sign-up form attached.
Procedure: Contact “Don’t Cancel That Class” at least two weeks prior to presentation with date, time, course title, location of class, number of students, preference of topic and we’ll do the rest to set up your presentation. We’ll even provide you a sign-in sheet with the list of students in attendance and an overview of learning outcomes accomplished from the presentation. We’ll do the best to provide the topic of your choice based upon availability.
A few of the topics covered include:

Study skills, test taking anxiety, goal setting, time management, steps to academic success, and a plan for academic success for the first year student.
□ Career & Job Services
Tour of the Career & Job Services Center, writing dynamic resumes and cover letters, interviewing skills for your dream job and utilizing the Eureka career research database.
□ Personal Health & Wellness
STDS & HIV- how to protect yourself?, dealing with stress, healthy relationships, personal responsibility when using alcohol and drugs, communication skills, sexual assaults and awareness, developing a budget on a student income.
□ Transfer Planning
Utilizing the Transfer Center, applying to a 4 year college/university, exploring your college/university options, researching scholarships and funding for college, and learning more about the transfer process.
□ Leadership and Community Service
Getting involved at LBCC, being a leader, getting involved in the community, Volunteer!
