Important Message from Risk Services
The Risk Services Department in conjunction with the Long Beach Police Department has prepared the attached guidelines regarding “On Campus Shootings.” Also included are the evacuation plans from the district's emergency preparedness plan. The maps referred to in the evacuation plan are posted at the entrances, elevators and stairwells of each building. A master book is on file in the Risk Services Office and will soon be posted on the intranet. The Emergency Operations plan is available for review on the intranet under "Administrative Services," select "Risk Services" and "Emergency and Safety Plans." Risk Service reminds you to remain alert and prepare yourself by taking a mental note on what you would do if this occurred in your classroom or office. Share these guidelines with your students and colleagues. Awareness and intervention can assist in the prevention of these unfortunate acts of violence.
