This year Long Beach City College is part of a planning committee for
the California Community College Fashion Symposium to be held on
Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the CA Apparel Mart in downtown Los Angeles.
It is a one day event with industry speakers, student scholarship
competitions and a fashion show held in the nearby Orpheum Theater.
This event is funded through a Family and Consumer Sciences
Collaborative grant from the state Chancellor's Office. 800 to 1000
Community College Fashion students from across the state will attend.

Debra Schaefer and Pamela Knights are in charge of inviting expert judges to judge the scholarship competition featuring the work of talented design and
merchandising students submitted from all over the state.

The static exhibit will be displayed and judged in the art gallery at Long
Beach City College. The judging will take place on Tuesday. April 8th from 7:30AM to 6PM and Wednesday, April 9th from 12 noon to 8PM.
